Rohit Sharma, opening the batting for the first time in Test cricket, smashed a century in the first Test and was unbeaten on 115 runs as India reached 202/0 at stumps on Day 1 against South Africa. Rohit’s opening partner Mayank Agarwal also batted with great confidence and remained not out on 84 runs before rain forced the umpires to call it a day early.
